Description

The E-Lock was designed and patented by Allen Elishewitz and used on several production folders from CRKT. Allen was also using the lock on several of his custom folders as well, though he is not using the lock as much in recent years.

As the photos below illustrate, the E-Lock is a spring-loaded rocker switch that is mounted on the side of the knife. Mechanically, it works very much like a button lock but instead of a button, a rocker switch mechanism is used. When the back of the switch is pushed, the lock located on the other end is raised and released from the tang of the blade, allowing the knife to close. The lock uses a leaf spring to keep pressure applied as you can see from the photos below.
