CPM S35VN Stainless Steel for Knife Blades

Crucible CPM S35VN Stainless Steel

Manufacturer: Crucible

CPM S35VN was developed in 2009 by Crucible Steel, and launched by Chris Reeve Knives as the upgrade to S30V. Like its predecessor, it is designed as the ultimate knife steel. It adds Niobium and a finer grain structure than S30V.

S35VN improves on its predecessor by improving machinability, finer grain structure, and increased toughness but is generally considered just a slightly improved version of the original. It was meant to replace S30V and shares all the same properties and comparisons, so check out the S30V page.

Companies extensively using this steel include Strider, Chris Reeve Knives and Zero Tolerance.
